My STORY

In 2017, I was treated for cancer. At that time my hemoglobin was down at 7%. The normal range for hemoglobin is between 11.8% and 15%. I tried iron pills but I didn't like the side affects.

Right before Thanksgiving 2018, I had a PICC line put in my left arm for receiving iron infusions. The hospital gave me a mesh sleeve which didn't work all that well for control of the ends. In fact, the green caps of the picc lines came off while wearing the sleeve. Then I just taped them together so both ends weren't flopping around. A nurse at the infusion center made a gauze packet for them the first infusion. After the second infusion, I wasn't happy with the gauze packet that time.

I have knitted and crocheted for many years and I had all this yarn and thread around. I finally got the idea to make a pouch for the picc line ends. I took me about 3 tries before I was happy with the way it turned out.

At the next infusion appointment, my nurse thought the pouch was a great idea and said I should sell them. I made some for the nurses to give out to other patients with PICC lines. The feedback from the nurses was that the people they gave the pouches to loved them.

So here I am starting a business to sell Comfy Ends - pouches for Comfort and Control of PICC Line ends.

My PICCline was in for 149 days. With hemoglobin at 13.4 before the last infusion.
